A great way for all our friends and family to keep in touch! Inspired by our son-in-law, Tony, who is a masterful writer and deserves an focused audience for his daily encounters and observations. This is a model for his 'launch'!

Today, in sunny Southern California, Rollin and I watched the Bears handle the New York Jets, further securing their role in the NFL playoffs. Rollin installed a soaker hose on the south side of the house, after procuring supplies from the new Home Depot just up the road on El Toro! He was delighted by its proximity, easing his forgetful journeys. Sharon readied Thanksgiving by setting in the needed provisions and offering Rollin's boss and family to join us; awaiting response. No woods; no river and no grandchildren. BUT, we're going to give thanks anyway!

This evening, following a full day of 85+ degrees, Rollin & Sharon went to Saddleback Church, where Pastor Sharon delivered messsage # 5 of 6; The message of JOY! Always thought-provoking and enlightening, it was interesting to note that JOY seems to be only expressed when engaging or envisioning the well-being others receive. What a simple reality. And, every time I heard JOY, my mind immediately went to Christmas 2001, Michigan, and the sounds, scenes, and senses shared by the our extended family, ages 6 - 91! THAT was joy...not for the gifts of material, but for the gifts of love, warmth, caring, pasts, futures and dreams for childrens' lives to come! JOYOUS was the night!
